Signage & fabrication · Ballinora, Co. Cork
We design, fabricate, finish and install signs from our own workshop and machinery. Shopfronts, 3D illuminated letters, light boxes, LED neon and fabricated steel, for businesses in Cork and right across Ireland.
Our work includes an international airport terminal and Sony outlets
Real work
Every project here is a sign we designed, made and fitted ourselves. Twenty years of jobs in Afghanistan, and the same hands now working from our own workshop in Cork.
Built-up 3D letters in royal blue, set on a steel frame above the terminal canopy. Fabricated and installed by Wafa Sign.

For a café and bakery brand we carried one logo across three very different signs: timber-faced letters on the shopfront, a laser-cut screen inside, and an edge-lit acrylic sign for the counter.

What we make
Our workshop, our machines
Most sign companies draw it and send it out to be made. We make it ourselves, in Ballinora. Scroll to follow one letter from drawing to wall.
The short version
One family, one workshop, one team from first sketch to final fixing. No middlemen, no sending your job to someone you have never met.
Our story
years in the sign trade
AF · 1993
Roeen Wafa built his trade making signs for shops and businesses in Afghanistan. Over two decades that meant every part of the job: drawing it, making it and putting it up.
Father & son
Wafa Sign is a family business. Roeen brings more than twenty years of sign-making. His son Shahab works alongside him on every job, from the first drawing to the final fixing.
IE · 2026
The same trade, with our own workshop and machinery just outside Cork city. We make signs for businesses across Cork and install them anywhere in Ireland.

Yes. We are based in Ballinora, just outside Cork city, and we design, make and install signs for businesses anywhere in Ireland. Our own team carries out every installation.
Every sign is quoted individually, because size, materials, lighting and access change the price a lot. A flat printed panel costs far less than illuminated built-up letters. Use the project builder above to tell us roughly what you need and your budget, and we will send a written quote.
Often, yes. Signs on business premises are controlled under the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, and illuminated signs, projecting signs and signs on protected structures usually need permission. Check with Cork City Council, Cork County Council or your own local authority first. We can supply drawings and photo mock-ups for the application.
Face-lit letters have LEDs inside and a translucent acrylic face, so the whole letter glows. Halo-lit letters have an opaque face and the LEDs shine back onto the wall, outlining each letter with light, like our F45 Training wall. Edge-lit signs feed light into the edge of clear acrylic so engraved or cut detail glows, like our counter sign for a cafe brand.
Yes. Every sign is designed and built in our own workshop in Ballinora, using our own machinery for CNC routing, laser cutting, welding and wide-format printing. We do not send work out to other sign makers.
Yes. Design is done in-house. We can work from a sketch or an idea, prepare clean artwork and show you a mock-up of the sign on a photo of your building before anything is made.
Acrylic (clear, opal and coloured), aluminium and aluminium composite, stainless and mild steel, PVC foam board, timber and MDF, and printed and cut vinyls. We recommend a material once we know where the sign will go and how long it needs to last.
Over more than twenty years in Afghanistan our work included 3D lettering for an international airport terminal, channel letters for Sony outlets, and shopfronts, light boxes and interior signs for cafes, restaurants, gyms and retailers. You can see a selection in the Real work section.
